At Oil Divine, we take great care and pride in each step of producing our product - from sourcing, and formulating, to packaging. Not only are the magical and potent oils in each Oil Divine product all natural and organic but are also housed in premium yet highly sustainable packaging.
All of our products are bottled in infinitely recyclable glass that is matte/opaque in color to preserve the integrity and quality of our divine formulations. As some of you know, essential oils and active ingredients in skincare products are best kept in tinted glass bottles and airtight. The reason behind it is to prevent the ingredients from eating away at the plastic and limit sun exposure to avoid degradation and oxidation.
The Problem with Plastics
Plastic packaging for beauty products usually contains hormone-disrupting chemicals: polyvinyl chloride plastics (PVC), PETE, or polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which contains phthalates and bisphenol-A (BPA). BPA has been linked to human breast cancer cell growth, while phthalates have been linked to liver damage and reproductive issues and are potentially toxic to the fetus. Even though plastic does not contain BPA, it still releases estrogenic chemicals called xenoestrogen, which mimics the effect of estrogen, and it is stored in our fat cells and accumulates over time.
Why Frosted Glass
- Oil Divine's commitment to non-toxic products and eco-conscious is more than just claims. We decided on our signature frosted glass bottles to house our formulations considering the links between the chemicals found in plastic packaging and health issues. All of our products are packaged in glass because they contain natural fruit and plant oils rich in amino acids and other natural acids. Plastic-free prevents them from eating away and absorbing the toxic chemicals in it.
- Frosted glass protects the products from light degradation and thus increases the shelf life without any harsh preservatives.
- Our products last up to one year after opening, but you will surely use every last drop well before then. Once open, it is essential to keep your products tightly closed in between use, away from direct sunlight, and stored in a cool, dry place.
