Hot weather can leave us feeling bloated, overheated, tired, or low on energy. In Ayurveda, summer is linked to Pitta dosha, which represents heat and digestion. When Pitta becomes excessive, the body may crave lighter, cooling foods.
One of Ayurveda’s go-to meals for this season is kitchari — a simple dish made with rice, mung dal, gentle spices, and vegetables.
Why People Love Kitchari
Kitchari is:
-Easy to digest
-Nourishing without feeling heavy
-Comforting and hydrating
-Great for supporting digestion during summer
Unlike heavy meals that can leave you sluggish in the heat, kitchari gives your body nutrients while feeling light and balanced.
